Established in 2006, Inside & Out home and garden is
an independently owned and operated business.
Founder's David Hatt and Jennifer Osmond have over
38 years experience in the furniture and accessories
retail market.

Beginning her career at Wheall & Cullen, Jennifer
moved to Sheridan Nurseries where she met her then
to be husband, David Hatt. Working together for 2
years they both moved to a new venture, UpCountry
Garden - a division of UpCountry Canada.

While at UpCountry Garden, both Jennifer and David
created a unique shopping experience with a
combination of both garden furniture and
accessories. Featured in numerous magazines and
garden shows, UpCountry Garden became the
destination for Toronto shoppers.

After their 3 years together, David moved to Art Garden Teak - a premier teak wholesaler. During
his 3 years with Art Garden Teak, David was able to experience the different sides of the retail
market and develop a deeper understanding and passion for quality outdoor teak furniture.

During this time, Jennifer moved to UpCountry Garden's flagship store UpCountry Canada. Being
one of the most well known names for contemporary furniture and accessories in Toronto,
UpCountry presented an opportunity for Jennifer to gain a firmer grasp on the interior market.
David joined her at UpCountry to run their new garden center in downtown Toronto. While Jennifer
pursued other interests, David was named regional manager for UpCountry's five locations
throughout the GTA.

It was in 2005 when Jennifer and David acted upon their dream of creating a unique concept.
Kingston was never in question to be the destination. The town, the people, and the lifestyle all
made it the ideal place to relocate. In June 2006 that dream became a realty. The rest, as they
say, "is history".
